The Prairie Aikikai is located just north and west of the town of Sycamore. The dojo occupies part of an out-building on the home property of Jeffrey and Leslie Hecht. The address is:

Getting there is quite easy. Interstate 88 is just to the south of us, while Interstate 90 is to the north, and Interstate 39 is just to the west. The map below shows you generally where we are (thanks, MapQuest!).

A little bit more detail helps ...

We are located exactly 2.3 miles north of Illinois Route 64 on Five Points Road (note: south of Route 64 Five Points Road is called First Street).

For the non-map inclined, here are some "word" directions:

From the East (Chicago-area)

Take I-88 west. Exit right (north) onto Peace Road (it is the first DeKalb area exit). Go about 6.8 miles, crossing Route 38 (Lincoln Hwy), then Barber Greene road, then Route 23 (Sycamore Road). The next intersection will be Route 64 (traffic light). Turn left (west) onto Route 64. Travel about 1.7 miles to a four-way stop with a blinking red light -- this is Five Points Road (to the north), and North First Street (to the south). Turn right (north) onto Five Points Road. Travel 2.3 miles. The dojo is on the left, just over a small creek.

From the South and West (Bloomington and Iowa)

Take I-39 north. Exit right (east, towards Sycamore) onto Route 64 (exit #104). Travel about 15.3 miles to a four-way stop with a blinking red light -- this is Five Points Road. Turn left (north) onto Five Points Road. Travel 2.3 miles. The dojo is on the left, just over a small creek.

From the North-West (Rockford)

Take Genoa Road South-East out of the township of Cherry Valley. Drive about 14 miles to Five Points Road (careful -- it is not well marked). Turn right (south) onto Five Points Road. Travel about 6.8 miles. The dojo is on the right, just before a small creek. NOTE: If you don't like country road driving just take I-39 south to exit #104, then follow the directions immediately above.

From the North-East (North Chicago and Suburbs)

Take I-90 west. Exit left (south) onto Route 47 (its right by the outlet store mall). Travel a few miles to Route 72. Turn right (west) onto Route 72, then travel about 13 miles or so into the town of Kingston. Turn left (south) onto Five Points Road (carefull -- it is not well marked). Travel about 5 miles. The dojo is on the right, just before a small creek.
